    LG 50px4dr-ua Plasma: no picture

    Overview of issue:

Unit powers on, hard drive spins up, power lights on front turn green.

Everything seems to be "on", but screen remains black.

    Initial actions taken:

    -> Checked all fuses
-> Did a basic voltage test (Vs, Vg, etc). all seem to be on-spot. Vg was over by about 3 volts - nothing major.
-> Inspected for bad caps, burnt devices, etc

I am about to hunt down the service manual for this, hopefully it is as complete as Panasonic service manuals are.

Anyone have any similar experience with these LG sets? Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

Awesome link, much more info than the initial SM I found.

I think I have narrowed things down to a bad ZSUS or YSUS board. This is a known issue on these TV's.

I have found some mixed direction that mentions the buffers or other boards also needing to be replaced, but cannot confirm. Many reports mention official LG service techs also replacing the power supply board.

I sure cannot imagine the PS board being bad - all voltages measure good up to the YSUS and VSUS boards.

I have ordered both YSUS and ZSUS boards ($8/each, guaranteed to work from reputable dealer on ebay!). Time will tell if this fixes things.

      Will post back.

$8 each for YSUS and ZSUS? Bargain!

Have you received your boards yet? My boss had this same tv and gave it to me cause he said it was broken. It starts up and you can barely see any light on the screen but the black slowly fades away in about ten minutes. Then if you turn all the picture settings all the way up you can see the picture but its a very poor picture. very dirty, fuzzy, and grainy. And still not that bright. Sound works perfectly. I checked a few voltages so far and the power board is all good, and like you said one was up 2 or 3 volts but nothing major. I was thinking the ysus or zsus also especially since I was measuring voltages spiking on the ysus heatsinks at between 200-400 volts. I see you're from TN too. They must've sent all the bad ones here.

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound
            by KYBOSH
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

Trying to Save - LG 60PH6700 60-inch plasma HDTV - Powers ON but no picture
            by KYBOSH
Saved this beast from the landfill this weekend.
            Manfactured July 2013 in Mexico.

I love working on plasma TVs.
Its been a while but I was lucky enough to find 2 this week.

The TV powers on and stays on but no picture. Havent checked for sound yet.
No bulging caps although the insides are pretty dusty and the boards are discolored from many years of high heat.
            Will start troubleshooting tonight.

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
            by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

            Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

            First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

LG 60PV450 Possible Bad YSUS Need help confirming Diagnosis
            by PlasMatt
I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
            by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

            Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...
