Yes I did try with just the upper, but she still when into protect mode.

That's part of the reason I wondered about the cause...

I'ts hard to tell, but there may be a very minute cut or mark in the same ic on the lower board the had the screwy outputs.

Yes, actually those are great in that they confirm the source of the bits and pieces of info I had so far, add some more info, and seem to lend support to or validate the trouble shooting path I/we've followed. The blown IC (buffer) fits it all perfectly now.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I'd like to know what OP did to make a jumper for the main power supply stated in the original post please I'm having the exact same issue on the same tv and I'd like to follow your steps! Hopefully you're still around thanks!
