sanyo pd46841

i picked up a sanyo pd46841 that had no power when pluged in , no stand by light or power button would work. i unplug a two wire connector on the main board/logic board and the back light comes on and stays on, i still dont have a stand by light and the power button/ buttons dont work. my question is do i need to replace the control /logic board ? cause the power supply seems to be working as it should . im not use to these kind of tv's i'm usually messing with plasma. thanks 4 any help

the sanyos have a history of bad digital boards. mine has a panny screen and everything except the digital is panasonic. anyway mine was under ext, warranty and it failed so the tech said. if not there then the screen has failed, anyway we are waiting on the digital board.

i get the panel to light un and all , but the power button dont work,and i dint have any stand by light , i tried a dvd player to c if i had sound but i didnt have any. but when i plug the two wire connector from inverter board to the motherboard/analog i dont get the backlight or anything!! and the main digital controls all this right ?

well, welcome to the club exact same symptoms, no stby, no green power light screen would glow dimly when plugged in. they said mainboard or screen. the main dig. is on order, had warranty. if you want to wait till the mainboard and repair man get here then i can tell you which. i am betting on main dig though, sanyos have this history of bad dig mains.

yea let me know will ya ,,,,i dont want to buy the wrong board,,,,! you have the same model,,the one i have was made in 2012 has pd46841-02

yours may not have the same board bad but the symptoms are the same. as soon as he gets the board we will know, on mine anyway. reason i paid extended warranty was the display. i didnt know panasonic owned sanyo.everything but the digital main is panasonic in mine.reason i bought a new tv was my mom was in the hospital during thanksgiving last year and i didn't have time to repair one so i bought a sanyo at walmart and they offered 2 ys ext wasrranty for 25.00 so i took it. sure paid off this time.

it is a sanyo pd46841 and the chassie is pd46841-02
auctally i got that one and another sanyo but diff model (dp42849) on a package deal cheap .30 bucks

main digital is awful hi for a used one 100 ! hope to get one or both up n going by the end of feb,,,one of them is gona make a good present for my young one !

dp is the prefix tom i got one here with a bad digital board, it is the right number just prefix is reversed

tom the tech on mine said the digital boards were like xboxes bga soldering on cpu and therefore prone to failure. i am going to try a reflow on mine if he dosent keep the old board.

I'd recommend it -- I've heard of a lot of failures on Samsung main boards that are BGA related.

i just thought it was just where they made a new change in the board or to a part one or two times before it was assembled n shipped out the door .

like i said these lcd `s are new 2 me ,if i wouldnt of gotten a deal on them i would of passed on them ! but i`m a sucker for deals lol

i priced a few main digital boards,,,,they arent cheap . i will prob order one in the next couple of weeks.

well the set is up and runing with a new main digital,!! so should i keep this,or sell?? and if i sell what should i price it at,??
