    Syncmaster 215TW Color problems

    Hey! Thanks to Badcaps I fixed that pesky Flickering issue with no problems whatsoever! Now that I can see the screen, I feel as if the color is off badly. I use this as a TV for my PS3 and most likely other consoles. Upon playing Skyrim, I noticed that no matter what setting I do, things go straight downhill VERY fast. Colors look faded, or dull. I've tried each preset, each setting and even done custom. Raising the brightness too high makes the moss inside turn into a REALLY off color green. Hard to explain. Anyone have any ballpark numbers to have a decent color setting?

    I currently run standard with brightness up a few notches. Can't explore dungeons of any sort cuz it's WAY too dark. D: Thanks for all your help!

      Was it brighter colours before you changed the caps.
      What make caps did you use.
      Is it the same whatever source.
      Is the contrast adjustment working

        I fixed the color of the potions by turning up the color setting a bit. Couldn't test the brightness before the caps fix cuz it would flicker and shut down. I used all Panasonic caps. From Digikey. And what do you mean by source? Like input source? If so standard AV Source.

        See the wall I circled? Mine would be so dark I couldn't see it at point blank range.

        When I come across that cave I'll try and get a picture of it if I can.

          Try adjusting the gamma setting.

            There are no gamma settings? Unless they're somewhere hidden? I use this as a TV.

            Here's a picture of my OSD menu. The third and fourth icons I cannot use when connected to a console. I'm not sure what those even do. On a slight off topic. Anyone know if there is a remote for this?

              I tried a program called QuickGamma but upon further reading it changed graphic card settings and not monitor settings so that was a bust lol.

                We have seen before that when bad capacitors occur on a Samsung, they can corrupt the EEPROM due to unstable power.

                  So I have tried all of those. Only noticeable one is the factory reset. Seems like all of them do the same thing on my 215TW? Could there be a damaged part?

                    Ok so it's definitely the TV for sure. Tried on my dad's HDTV and can see everything just fine. Gah this is just annoying now.
