Hisense pdh4233neu - all black is bright red after moving in car...

hey peeps

my hisense 43 inch plasma was moved and now it sport a nice fully red screen.
i have opnened it up and checked all connectors and even ribbon cables and nothing appears to be loose. i also checked all capacitors if any were "popped" but allas nothing was this simple.

ive read up on th e problem and it seems i could have the following complications:

eeprom error, reset nescesarry (WHICH WOULD SUCK BECAUSE I DONT HAVE REMOTE FOR FACTORY MENU)

Voltage adjustment (i have found 5 locations which can be set, have not changed any because of titles like R42, s10, ect. did noticed 2 called: set so voltage and: set sd voltage.

i was kind of hoping not having to dump this plasma on the dump just yet...
i am in kind of a hurry because i sold it to a friend... which i owe money unless fixed...

Can you take some pictures?

I know you say you have reseated all connectors but in about 90% of cases this is a loose LVDS cable. If this is an older plasma accessing the other end of the LVDS cable may require you to remove the main board to reveal the control board.

flash is a bit bright but everything is high res and visible.
if needed non flash photo's can be made.

I know you say you have reseated all connectors.

i have not said i had reseated all connectors, i pushed in the click ones, and checked the ribboncables gently if they were aligned. a few click ones were loose'ish but affixing them made no difference.

edit: also the tv is laying in parts on my coffee table (and scattered throught he troom) and i have relatives coming over tomorrow morning, including my mother... you have no idea of how much value your timing is.

looks alot like a 42inch LG i have sitting on my table.

also your flash is too bright to see anything in the pictures its best to take them without flash by an window or a lamp if at night.

edit:
there is also another board underneath some metal bar for the speaker part.
the left and right portions with the ribbon cables are humming when the tv is turned on, since this is an old model ive considered this normal. speaker humm aswell depending on input...

Your with flash picture is fine. Sometimes though, it helps to use natural sunlight in taking pictures.

It's perfectly normal for the left/right boards to hum even on a modern plasma, they are the sustain/scan boards and deal with very high peak currents to make the plasma display work (>100A peak), which causes the components on them (especially the inductors) to "sing" a little.

There's a black sheathed cable from the AV board, which you just provided a photo of, to the control board, which is underneath the AV board.

You will have to remove the AV board assembly (it is in a metal container) and try reseating the cable on the control board.

yes tom it was it was almost completely removed... this happened quite clearly because the cable is too short. when picking up the tv byu the handlebars the chassis bend by its weight exactly at the point where this cable would come loose...

i have made more cable room by re-arangement.
havent had the time to thank you yet... i started a small household fire in the kitchen while screwing +/- 70 screws in place....
