Toshiba 42rv530u Firmware "Reset"

I know this has probably been covered, but I have a Toshiba 42rv530u that does absolutely nothing when the power button is pressed. I have reason to believe it is the main PCB. Apparently there is a way of resetting the firmware by shorting 2 pins on an 8 pin IC on the main board. The power board is new.

and apparently tom66 may know which pins to short? I cannot find it in the service manual, assuming it is not there.

I think the reset is for Samsung TVs. Not heard of it with a Toshiba before (I was guessing it might apply in that thread, but now I realise it probably doesn't), and it only works on older Samsung TVs for some obscure reason.
