    Re: Toshiba 46SV670U

I was in the process of doing that . I also cleaned the inside of the connectors,I will have to slightly do that with the ribbons.

      Re: Toshiba 46SV670U

been away for several days from this fiasco..I finally received a TCON board today. After installing hopign that it would do the trick, to my surprise nothing no video just audio. I am assuming that the board is good. I purchased it from marcos electronics.

Given my situation, could I fairly assume that the issue now lies in the Main board not delivering the signal to the TCON? is there a way to test this out? I did go over all the voltages again from the PS and they all checked out good.

Another question- if I was to completely disconnect the back light boards from the circuitry, would I still have video but no backlight. I want to test whether the LED drive boards maybe affecting the dimmer and TCON if possible. Or do they rely on one another? basically Does the main board need to check the circuitry of the LED drive boards inorder to send a signal to the TCON and dimmer?

          Re: Toshiba 46SV670U

I suspect the T-con would be looking for an ERROR signal from the LED boards and shutting down if there's a problem, but I have no experience with LED-LCD TVs so can't offer much help.

            Hi mike123333,

I have the exact same model witht he exact sam problems you described. I also did some measurements on the original tcon and on the dimmer board. I found there was no enavle signal going to the regulator that boosts the voltage from 12 to 15 v on the tcon. By forcing that on, I got a bunch of colored vertical stripes and determined it looked like a tcon failure, tried to reflow the main BGA chip with no luck. Decided to purchase tcon and dimmer from shop jimmy. Tried both and same results, no backlight and no picture. backlight works when the cable going to the dimmer is removed, but still no pic. Did you ever solve the problem with your set? Any words of advice? thanks to anyone who can help. I left to believe it is either the main board, or the panel itself.
