Re: Pioneer VSX-1022-k No audio
Yes , I should hook up a generator, right now I have been probing around with both the scope and an earbud with a cap in series. When set to tuner and tune in a station,I have audio making it from the tuner to the audio switching board, then into digital HDMI board into the codec chip, which then sends the audio back out to the audio switching board on the proper channels. Something is stopping the audio from then making it back through the switching ic to the amplifier or to headphone amplifier. I attempted disconnecting the mute circuitry by removing...

Re: Pioneer VSX-1022-k No audio
Quick update, I have found the digital board and codec ic are now sending the audio back to the audio assy A board . Still trying to trace down why and where audio path stops. Does anyone know if the mute_B+ or A_MUTE signals are muted on high or low and what their exact purpose is?

Pioneer VSX-1022-k No audio
Hi all,
I have a bad vsx-1022-k pioneer that I obtained with a DC protect error and no power on. After finding reset code and testing channels the Front right had DC offset and bad transistor. Replaced transistor and emitter resistors and checked most components then reset idle current. The dc protect issue was solved , but still have no audio from any channels and no audio from headphone jack . When tuner is selected and tuned to station , I can trace audio from tuner to main board, through audio select board, through connector board , to the main digital board(hdmi board ) traced...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60LE810UN troubleshooting
Cycle power, immediately start holding power button for 5 seconds, you will get interruption on the existing flashing error code. A brief out of sequence flash. Next hold volume down and input at the same time. While holding those two, press and release the power button. Set will come on ignoring the error. Press vol down and chan down till service menu appears. Clear the lamp error.
All this has to be done quick after power is applied. Takes practice to get it right

Hitachi 55HDs69 plasma No VS,VA, bad buffer
Have a hitachi du2 chassis 55hds69 that will not command on PSU. Found a bad buffer board , it was shorted , disconnected it but still no vs or va attempt.
If I manually force vago and vego high, I get PSU voltages for a couple seconds before crowbar circuit trips and shorts to ground va and vs. PSU then locks out.
There appear to be a vs and va feedback from digital board somehow that are needed for PSU to stay on.
How do I determine if PSU is good? Va seems low, 45v, can only keep on for couple seconds. How can I force PSU to stay on in this set?...

Replace all 3 inverter transformers. You will likely find a burnt one. voltahes generated hy all 3 must be identical. Must do all three or it will continue to shut down due to slight difference between new and old transformers. My resistor was across a cap on the ic. I don't recall which lead. It bypasses the over voltage protection timer circuit. Resistor is not a permanent fix and is bad to do if a transformer is bad. It May be a fire hazard. It was across the the error timer cap. Try to find the ic datasheet to locate the error timer pin.
I suggest replacing transformers after...

Re: Vizio Problem M3D650SV
If there is a constant picture on whole screen with advertisements on, it cannot be a panel defect. You would be wise to try a main board. However if it only intermittently shows on the whole screen, it could be a bad panel. I have seen panels that have defects on the power traces on the glass itself that are intermittent failures and almost impossible to replicate. Twisting, pressing on tabs. Nothing seems to help in that case.

M550SV Vizio main board repair
I have a m550sv Vizio that is completely dead. No indicator led. Power supply tests good. Very confident main board has issues. Ldo regulators seem ok. No response to any buttons. Power supply is activated when TV is plugged in.
Ie , ps on = high and v out is good.
Anyone have experience or suggestions on this main board?
Crystal Oscillators are operational, however tcon PSU section is not powered on due to MOSFET being switched off.
Anyone have any suggestions?...

Hello, I saw your post in the Westinghouse SK-32H240S thread regarding the 2 sec off backlight problem. It sounds like mine is experiencing the same exact problems as yours. I wanted to know if you were ever able to resolve it? I can buy a replacement power board, but I would rather fix mine if possible. I am pretty skilled with electronics, so I'm not afraid of the challenge. Also, you had said that hooking up a resistor to a pin on the LX1692 chip would allow the backlight to stay on. What pin did you use and to where did you attach the other end? I would like to see if the same trick works...

Re: Polaroid FLM-3232 Dead 24V Rail
Just did one of these. Had intermittent PFC failure and low voltage on big 400v cap. Same symptom, no backlight. otherwise ok.Found there was two surface mount diodes in series connected to pin 8 of pfc chip. One was cracked and had intermittent connection. I found it by re soldering all pfc circuit components on PSU. When I went to re solder it, it came apart in the middle, an I know I didn't cause it to crack, pretty sure it was the cause. It was not a visable problem before I reflowed the solder. I don't know what kind if Zener it should be,...

Re: Westinghouse SK-32H240S Continued problems
hello everyone, same symptome here. I have replaced a fried transformer to only get two seconds to black symptom. I have a fair amount of experience with lcd tv's, fixed many with many differnt problems.
This unit has darfon B070-401. I replaced a burnt transformer. Unit still went back into shutdown mode. Cause appears to be inverter chip LX1692. All ccfl are good. The ccfl chip has a pin that connects to cap and works as a timer to transistion between ignite and run mode. The chip has an internal current source to...

Re: Toshiba 46SV670U
Hi mike123333,
I have the exact same model witht he exact sam problems you described. I also did some measurements on the original tcon and on the dimmer board. I found there was no enavle signal going to the regulator that boosts the voltage from 12 to 15 v on the tcon. By forcing that on, I got a bunch of colored vertical stripes and determined it looked like a tcon failure, tried to reflow the main BGA chip with no luck. Decided to purchase tcon and dimmer from shop jimmy. Tried both and same results, no backlight and no picture. backlight...
