    Samsung Plasma PN51D450A2DX display problem

Hi everyone, this is my first post so go easy on me. I have a chance to buy this plasma 51 in 3D plasma for $150 with a display problem, see the attached picture, that's the only picture I have right now. Anyway the owner said the TV shop told him it was a bad Disply Panel. I'm not convinced of that, could it be a bad lower buffer or logic board? I need help in deciding to buy it or not. All the boards for this set are fairly cheap on ebay.
Thanks for any help on this.

If you're talking about the lines on the screen - I can't quite tell - then yes, it is a bad display panel and is unrepairable (without replacing the plasma panel, which costs a lot of $$$.) It is caused by the chips embedded on the FFCs for the plasma panel going bad. In this case, it looks like some kind of sustained EOS (electrical overstress) has damaged a lot of these chips. I *could* be wrong - there is the rare chance it's a control board issue, but I doubt it.

      Thanks Tom66,
Yes, I did mean the white area and those vert lines on the bottom. So, it sounds like you're pretty sure it's not a buffer issue and most likely a bad display. I guess I'll pass on buying this one, too much money anyway. Many thanks for your fast reply and good advice. I have repaired many LCD TVs but fairly new at Plasma. Thanks again.
