Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
So is it fixed? I have the same tv, no pic just sound, with the clicking coming from the ysus board. How do you know you need a y buffer? I was hoping to fix by only replacing the ysus.
Thanks,
Russ

You were right, I didn't have the LVDS connector seated all the way on the main board!
I just need a top Y-buffer now

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
Ok. I purchased a brand new Ysus board today and installed it. The screen works but I get no picture, menu, or volume bar displayed on the screen. Is this caused by a main board?Leave a comment:

The clicking is fairly frequent, about once or twice a second. I'll try to clean it...Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
How long between each click?
Check for stray dust or solder... I found an LG Plasma at the local tip which was not working but I cleaned all the dust out and what do you know it starts working again. I think it was cigarette dust because it smelt awful.

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
I've unplugged both buffers but the clicking remains. The top IPM chip on the "used" Y-Sus board does not warm up like the other one. It sounds like the clicking is coming from that chip also.Leave a comment:

Sounds like a buffer is still failed. Have you tried removing one?Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
So I put in a new buffer board and used ysus. The lines in the middle are gone now but I hear a clicking coming from the ysus and the screen kinda flashes on and off with the clicking.
Any ideas?Leave a comment:

It has two. I guess it couldn't hurt to do the resistance tests mentioned in the blog??Leave a comment:

Does this TV have two Y-buffers, or just one?Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
Tom, did you read the link to coppell tv blog? It mentions the problem being the Y buffers, what do you think about that? Possible?Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
The main logic is most likely the cause of this problem. You'll also need a new IPM or a new Y-sustain. Fix the Y-sustain first, before attempting to diagnose the main fault. The Y-sustain is unlikely to be the cause of the problem you are seeing.Leave a comment:

I didn't realize the parts would be that affordable!Leave a comment:

A new 50" plasma is around $600, the parts will probably cost $150 total, do the math.Leave a comment:

The screen does not change if I change signal sources. Do you think this TV is worth repairing? Right now it seems I will have to replace 3 boards (YSUS, Main, and X-board)Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio Plasma 50HDTV10a problem
To me this is a problem with either the X-Main or the Logic Main boards. The Y-Main addresses the rows, the X-Main addresses the columns. I don't think it is the main (signal) board. runyonwc, does the color and intensity of the central bar change if you change signal sources?

I spoke too soon. Assuming you have a 6871QYH039 A/B/C board, which it looks like but I can't make out from the picture, you need this chip: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sanyo-Module...1#ht_500wt_969
39.85 plus shipping if you are in the US.Leave a comment:

by rajbotHi all:
I have a Vizio E60-E3 I am trying to troubleshoot a no power problem with. Thanks to the help on this board and elsewhere, I was pretty sure I had narrowed it to a power board problem. The board in question is a 09-60CAP0D0-00. Image attached for reference, but not of my board (tv is put away at the moment). FWIW, no obvious looking issues with the board.
I measured voltage at power in and on the fuse and saw 120V, so power is getting to the board.
On the pins out to the main board, I got no voltage at all on any of the pins. I assumed this... -
by PlasMattI have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...09-20-2025, 06:50 PM

by renechhello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left... -
by Zeonalbastai have a problem with thinkpad X1 carbon gen 2 "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021"
The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double... - Loading...
