    Hi Guys
I have had your help before and with great success with my room tv, now i have a problem with my sons Toshiba lcd. He was playing his xbox last night and the lcd shut down into standby and wont turn on at all now . The red standby light is on but there is no responce from the remote or button on the side. Has anyone any idea whats wrong with it? can it be fixed? My son said he appreciates your help as well (hes 13 and xbox mad)

Have you tried anything else on a different input?

tried all the other inputs and still nothing only the red standby light.
My son said it just went off while he was playing the game straight into standby but he thinks it made a noise like it does when you normally shut the tv off at the end of the night.
          Any ideas?
          cheers

It's either the main board, the power supply, or possibly the inverter. The most likely scenario is that the standby supply is working, and either the main board does not send the signal to turn the main supply on, or the main supply does not turn on.

Under these circumstances, the best option is to take the back of the TV off, take pictures, and attach them to your next post using 'Manage Attachments'. One over-all shot, one of the power supply, one of the main board, one of any labels indicating the pinout of the power supply outputs. At least 1000 x 100 pixels, but not over 2000, well lit, well focused.
