    ViewSonic N3760W Help!

    Hi there,

    I got this TV as a hand me down from my brother about a month ago, and he's had it since about 06-07, and just the other day I noticed that when pressing the power button on the remote or on the TV it won't power up. It just shows the green LED light on for about a second then turns off. I have to hold it and keep pushing it for about a good min or so until it finally powers up. Is there any way to fix this? Or is the tv just simply dying?

    Also the tv has a "bleeding" problem with it as well, and I was wondering if there is anyway I can get that fixed. I mean it's not really noticeable only when the image is really dark or so. The lighter the image on the TV the more it fades away. Here are a few pictures;

    It doesn't really bother me at all. I was just wondering if this kind of thing is fixable. I don't think it's under warranty but hey it's a free HDTV. So I'm not complaining.

    Thanks!

      Looks like a pressure mark to me. Not repairable (OK repairable by replacing the LCD panel, which is prohibitively expensive).

        The power up problem might be due to bad caps in the power supply. The only way to be sure is to open it up and investigate. It will not self-heal and will likely not start at all one day soon.
