    Conia CSTB12 Repair

My set top box stopped working, the green LED was dim.

Opening the lid, I found C125, Aishi CD288Z, 16V 1000uF, bulging. Replacing it brought back operation to the device.

I have posted some pics on my blog if you require more verification.

Are you bragging, or just explaining why you are drinking?

'It ain't bragging if it's true.' Congratulations, you did well.

      Bios HP TPN-C125 ABL52 LA-C701P
      by viaka
I have an HP TPN-C125 PC under repair equipped with the ABL52 LA-C701P main board, when turned on, only the LED appears and after a few seconds it turns off, I have a doubt that the bios or KB9022 files are corrupted, I have tried them different but not specific to my model,
does anyone have the dumps? thank you.

HP Laptop TPN-C125 replacement batteries will not charge after 12 months
      by dicky96
I got four replacement batteries for these HP laptops about a year ago. The originals would not charge, and these replacements have now gone the same way.

I'm not sure what the expected life of a laptop battery is but I woud have thought they would last longer than that

I now need to order four more batteries. Possibly these replacement ones were now good? The owner does not mind paying a bit more for originals or good compatible batteries that last longer

The top one is the original

      Any ideas?
      Cheers...

Aishi Capacitors (same value, different height)
      by linker3000
      Hi everyone,

I'm refurbing a non-working DVR (won't power up) and starting by replacing the caps in the PSU PCB section. All caps are Aishi and some have already tested bad and will be replaced, however I have a quick question:

There's a bunch of 1000uF 16V caps, but one is taller than the others. The majority are marked CD288Z, and the taller one is CD288S. A quick Web search has not turned up any useful info, so can anyone let me know from experience whether there's any major differences between the two types that may be relevant for how I replace them. I presume...
