    LG MZ-42PZ44 42" Plasma Television switches on 1sec and then turns of

    Hi,
    In advance sorry for my bad English.
    My LG plasma TV gave a rare screen before something in the tv has broken or blown. First it looked like a wet oil painting. Then suddenly a sound like exploding a capacitor. After inspecting the the electronics i could not find any damaged capacitor. Nor some other part that has blown up. On the Y-SUS board i found one of the two fuses was broken. After replacing this fuse the tv powers up, for two seconds the green light goes and then it turn back to red. I disconected the Y-SUS board and then the led stays green. Removing the fuse and reconecting also result in a normal power state (green light). Disconecting the controll board (the bottom board connected to the pannels) gives the same result. So i think the Y-SUS board is defect, but I am not sure. Is there any one who can help me out on this? Does anyone know where i can buy this Y-SUS board (6870QZE009H)?

      John, It's obvious you born in the USA - your English is too good. Also, you have done a good job of describing the problem and troubleshooting. Thank you.

      There is one mistake. The 6870QZE009H is a Z-Sustain board; the Y-Sustain is at the other side of the TV. The symptoms you describe match a failed Z-sustain. There are several available on eBay, including a new one.

          Hi, PlainBill.
          Thank for your advice. I bought the board on eBay (tvpartsguy) and received it.
          I replaced the board and the tv works fine FOR 2 DAYS. Now again after a while the same simtoms as before. See the picture. With the previous board it got damaged after a few days. To prevent this, i rather not use the tv until i know the real cause.
          Does anybody have suggestion of the real cause of this?

              I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
              I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
              the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
              i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
              I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
              I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left...

              Hello,
              I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
              Opened TV cover & observed foll
              a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
              b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
              c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
              How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

              Hi,
              anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
              It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
              I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
              I checked that board for any obvious faults...

              This is my first posting, so forgive me everyone in advance if I made mistake(s) in my posting.

              I know there have been much about this plama tv already and I have read through most what I could find. However; I still have not come across any service lit/schematics for this tv. I even looked for the 50PS11 which would be basically relevant other than display size. Anyone know to find the documentation would greatly be appreciated.
