Ok guys. this post is for reference basically. THis is from a lot of tvs i havent posted about yet, but basically every one is junk in my opinion. I was sad to see this one raped too.

No power, mismatching relays on the power board, some amateur solder bridging and resoldered but BURNT smd transistors. I think this one is beyond me unless i find a cheap power supply to test with.. Bummer.

Good luck finding any parts. I would hang on to it and save for another day.

I have a note pad I keep with a list of tvs I need parts for. I look on ebay everyday and something always turns up.

I don`t pitch anything. I have had tvs for 2 years and needed parts and was glad to have saved them.

True with cadillacs as well.

Relays almost never fail and people always try to replace them because it fixed their ford truck.

yeah thats for sure!! i dont know wtf redneck had these tvs but i will get some pics of this hackery... youll laugh your a$$ off.. i got a gateway 48" with somular pc hacking going on, and a smaller tv weith a wrong power supply half hacked on before they gave up. dude said they were running off a generator or something? i didnt believe him till i opened them up lol

That is why you need to watch what you buy. I have been very lucky.

I had an old phillips/ samsung (fd9954) The good ones! These all had cap issues on the power supply.

The guy told me someone had tried to repair it. It was ok and I was able to repair it.

If I wanted to sell a tv I trashed I would make sure it wouldn`t power up.

If I wanted to sell a tv that had a vertical bar I would make sure it would not power up.

I would never do that but I am sure there people who would.

If you ask enough questions you can figure out if it`s a repair guy selling the tv or just a homeowner selling a dead tv.

I have been lucky with ebay as well. So far I have picked about 20 units and none have been tampered with.

Some have even worked!
