    What SMD component is this?

Guys , does anyone know what this SMD component is? It looks like a diode, but it has the white line in the middle instead of at the edges.
I checked it with multimeter, and it was open.

TVS diode, if in doubt, you can remove it.

How To Test a P-channel Trench Mosfet Using A Multimeter In Diode Mode
        by dj8452000
I am new to electronics and I'm understanding most of what I'm reading but I have a mosfet on my board that I've identified as a P-channel Trench Mosfet. I haven't a clue how to test this and what I should expect to see with the multimeter probes. I am hoping someone with years more experience than myself can help me understand how to use a multimeter to read this. Please look at the drawing I have attached to this and can you try to explain to me what I should be doing with my multimeter in diode mode and what results I should expect from a good mosfet?...

        Multimeter diode mode question
        by darkness77
Hi, i am noob in repairing electronics and motherboards...and most of the time i am still trying to understand how things work...So, lately i have been using and testing motherboards in diode mode. Most of the motherboards that i test are not working and broken. The question is that if i use multimeter in diode mode on high 19vol rails sometimes i read fixed number in multimeter but on some other boards reading in diode mode is rising indefinitely till i read 1. I am talking on lets say ac_bat 19volt rails on motherboards. So, i dont understand how it is rising indefinitely? In theory if only...

Finding replacement diode iPad Pro 3rd gen A1701
        by asr
Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

        TV backlight zener diode
        by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

ASUS GU502GV not powering on - 1285A hot
        by yayayee
        Hello,

I have a laptop that isn't turning on. When I disassemble it and plug in the power connector with the pcb by itself, I can see with a thermal camera I bought that TPS51285A is the only thing getting hot.

So of course, the first thing I do is google the laptop model and the IC, and it just happens that I stumble upon a video by Northridgefix attempting to repair the exact same problem, only for it to catch on fire.

I thought that maybe I'd be lucky so I bought a 1285A, that came in as a 1285B. The only difference I can see between them is that the 1285B...
