Hey Everyone,
So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.
I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same thing with the right LVDS cable and same result. But with both connected, I get the looping issue described above.
I tried taping off various pins on each LVDS but was never able to get a picture at all (I was able to stop the looping).
I tried removing the ribbon cables that join each set of driver boards (see pictures) and everytime I removed one, I was able to stop the loop and get sound.
In the end, I was able to get a picture a couple times by doing the following;
1. Power on TV, loop starts.
2. With the TV on, unplug the LVDS ribbon cable from the far left OR right driver board.
3. Wait for loop to stop (I hear a samsung jingle and the flashing standby light stops).
4. Plug the LVDS ribbon cable into the far left OR right driver board.
5. Ensure when plugging in either LVDS ribbon cable, that I insert the outer end of the cable first and seat it in the connector from outside to inside and secure it.
At this point I have a picture and can use the TV normally. If i power it off and back on again, the looping starts again...
And that's my story! Looking for any hope that I can salvage this unit.
Thanks
