Pantum CM1100adw firmware w/no chip

Hi friends.

Got the CM1100adw color printer and delighted at the prospect of being able to break-free from this "chip" on inks/toners!!!
Read many posts on topic.. wondering if someone can help:

Assuming i'd want to do myself, is it possible to read/dump firmware from USB port, or that requires breaking down the printer and connecting to PCB?

Also, not sure how to determine if the bootloader is locked or not..

Not really, I think a dedicated firmware needs to be generated using above serial/code that bypasses chip

You have an error in the ID, what program did you read it with?
