    Router adapter power

Hi, can someone tell me would it make any stability and power difference if I buy new adapter for my router that is a little stronger than current one ?

    Current one is 45W 19V 2.37A

I was thinking of replacing it with 65W 19V 3.42A

Connector is same on both 5.5x2.5

A device draws only what it needs.
So if the power supply has a higher rating for the device there is no difference...

thats fine, the rating is the maximum it can provide, you probably will get longer life by not driving the new one so hard.

So there is no point of getting stronger adapter ?

not really, unless the original ran very hot indicating it was being pushed to it's limits

i like to have stuff only using about 75% of the psu capacity.
if you go too far the other way and use a very oversize psu you still lose because most psu's get very uneficient at low currents.
