Ultra X2 X-Connect VS component question

Need help identifying this small component. On the thermal sensor PCB that controls the fans in the power supply, there are 3 small black plastic components. I cannot remember what they are called which makes replacing one difficult, in the bouts of "CRS" disease I guess.

They are 3/4 round sort of [), .5mm x .3mm. Component number is U1 on PCB. Markings are:

    "H" TL
    43T-C
    639

I picked this up at a very good price because the p/s works, but fans only spin for a few seconds before stopping. This component appears to be the problem, it is cracked across the middle above the 43T-C and split on the casting seam vertically.

    Thanks in advance.

    Likely it's actually: TL431C

    Datasheet: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe...PS/TL431C.html

Many thanks, Toasty. Right you are, it is a "1" It was on the split so I couldn't see it ar first.

On my way to find the part now.

Jelly bean micro amp regulator providing fixing voltage based on 2 precision resistors totem pole circuit for the feedback circuit.

Should not be more than 5 bucks. Can be tested in circuit with few volts across this circuit and get exact 2.5V if it works correctly.

        Cheers, Wizard

So far the smallest quantity purchase I can find is 10 @ $12 plus shipping. Is there any source for smaller quantities that you folks could recommend. I could live with the $12 price I guess, Digikey sells only in multiples of 2000 @ $224. I will also check some of the junk power supplies I lying about.

          Sta yu,

Looks like you can get them by the 1's on Mouser for 14 cents each:
            http://mouser.com/ProductDetail/Fair...aytbcjY9iFQ%3d
Looks like it's the right part. Good luck

My bad. Chose the 2,000 min qty line. The singles are one above:

              http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=296-1290-ND

              $0.40

Mouser shipping can be high vs. Digikey.

EDIT: BTW, device package is called TO-92

Well, installed the part, but I think there were other components bad as well. Still no power to the fans. I used a thermal sensor board salvaged from an Ultra 600W p/s instead. Same PCB, only difference was it had the overvolt protection components on the board which the 700W lacked. The thermal sensor part worked fine and I now have a nice 700W modular p/s. I will probably try reworking the entire original thermal PCB sometime this winter.

Can you provide pics of the board? Top and bottom?

It's not -that- complicated a circuit.

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
                      by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....
