    Manson HCS-3402 Failure

G'day all from a first time poster.

I've got a Manson HCS-3402 here that has been playing up, and then today failed.

On start up it used to go through all the self tests OK, run for 30 seconds then power down. Yesterday, it ran through the self tests OK, then displayed ERR on the front panel.

Today I powered it up, and got nothing. I tried again in preset mode, and it powered up, ran for about 60 seconds, then vented smoke. On the primary side, U2, Pin 4 looks more like a failed fusible link with D5 also looking quite sad. Mains fuse (as expected) also blown.

Before I get too carried away, are the schematics readily available for this model? I did read through an earlier thread on the 32xx series and grabbed info from there, but quite a bit of difference between the models. I believe these are the same as the Peaktech 1575.

Hoping that there is a chance of resurrecting this!

    Cheers.

They say that they take PayPal
I would not recommend buying from them if they do not take PayPal

      That just me

I would recommend that you check for shorts near and around that chip seeing how the pin burn off the chip

Could you please post a wider view of the area around that chip thanks

Here is the data sheet for this device

MacBook Pro late 2016 (820-00239) with multiple failure modes.
        by npielawski
I will just preface all this by saying that I have a fairly technical background but have never attempted SMD electronics diagnostics and repair before, I really like the idea and want to learn.

I have a MacBook Pro late 2016 that died maybe four years ago. Over the course of 30 seconds, it got slower and stuttered, until it froze for a second and died. No click from the trackpad anymore, nothing. I started getting interested in electronics repair and decided to give it a shot, so I opened it, removed the battery (one cell was puffy), took out the motherboard and experimented with...

Power supply Manson NTP-5561 (5661) LCD controller dead - PIC18F87K90 HEX dump required
        by Andreas_de
        Hello!

i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.

Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?

Dell 9310 Memory or RAM (Random-Access Memory) failure (2,4)
        by puccovelli
Hi all, I hope this is the right place to post.

I'm having a problem with a Dell 9310 which is posting 2 orange, 4 white lights on startup (hangs on Dell BIOS logo). The service manual says its a RAM failure.

I've taken the motherboard out and noticed that one of what looks like an SMA 0805 resistor has blown (see photo). The board is an LA-J144P Rev 2.0(A01).

1] Could someone confirm what the component that has blow actually is (and where I could get another from).
2] Whether this component is likely to cause the RAM failure issue, and if replacing...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
        by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
        • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
        • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
