    Corsair VX550

Has anyone recapped one of these and have a cap list? I wanted to freshen mine up since it's getting old and it's my main pc so trying to cut downtime. All i can find is that they use UCC KZE or atleast on of them. It also has a UCC primary vs the hitachi but not sure on the revision.

If no one has I'll make a list soon.

It heavily depends on which version that actually is, there is so many of them…so I am afraid you'll have to look inside and see…

If I'm not mistaken they used NCC capacitors on the whole supply. It shouldn't need recapping.

Just for maintenance, I recapped my VX450 (post). All the old caps tested fine, they were top quality UCC as I recall.
Not sure how similar the two PSU's (VX550 and VX450) are.

Made a mistake and didn't buy 10mm dia. skinny caps. Had to stuff the 12.5mm dia parts in. That was no fun.
So I did not post my cap list, but still have it.

          Re: Corsair VX550

This psu has been on 24/7 for around 8-10 years in a smokers environment. Seems worth the 10-15 bucks to have it like new again.

I can only see a couple caps looking in from the fan and they look fine but the ones under the heatsinks may not. Have some ky, pw and other randoms on hand if any look real bad. I'll just pull it apart to get a list then put it back together while i wait on new ones.

Well all i can say is there are 3 16v 2200uf ???(thinking kze) in the back by the cable pass through and a 10v 2200uf ky in the front. First time i've not seen a bulging caps. I'll wait till it needs em to pull it apart.

This is rather packed in there and didn't feel like taking it apart to make a list. I did find a new cleaner though LA's totally awesome is ....well awesome even at 50/50 cleaner /water. No scrubbing just a few sprays, let it sit and sprayed with hot water then a bath in distilled water.

Sorry for not making a list when i planned to.

The adda fan in this one has bearings that are "maintenance free" so you can't pull the covers and repack them. Another adda fan of about the same vintage had clips for the dust covers and i was able to clean the dried grease that wasn't lubing and put new in.

Now you know why smoking is bad - really bad and what it does to your lungs and shit...

Either way we can't see much with this design because heatsinks obstruct everything important...
+12V should be close to the transformer on that plattform...
And those caps aren't easily spotted either...

Random Shutdowns/Startup Failure with Corsair SFX 450
                by h0m3w0rk
                Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a frustrating issue with my Corsair SFX 450 power supply. After an undefined period of operation, my PC will either suddenly restart or, in some cases, it won't start at all until I disconnect the power cable and reconnect it. This erratic behavior occurs intermittently, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact conditions under which it happens.

For context, I have tested the PSU using an electronic load at 150W, and under those controlled conditions, it functions flawlessly. This leads me to...

Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01 Schematic and Parts List
                by Mark D
The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...

                List of compatible laptop motherboards
                by Deby

This is a list of compatible laptop motherboard information that I have been collecting for some time.
                And it's still ongoing.
Every time I come across information that a board is compatible with another, I write it down.
Anyone who wants to, can continue to expand the list.
Packed in the rar, is an excel table that has additional information.
                Motherboards.rar...

Corsair HX1200 connected w EVGA molex cable, 12V pin back feeded to 5V. Anybody has experience in this damages repair?
                by coinwizx
The power supply is 2020 Corsair HX1200 modular power supply.

Cause of damage: I connected EVGA molex cable to the Sata port and test it with a ATX tester. Since the pin out on the EVGA is wrong, result in the 12V pin shorted to the 5V pin, in the 12V back-feeded to the 5v port.

Damage: Power supply shorted out, shut off itself internally, damaged the 5v or 3v rail or the monitoring circuitry. The self protection circuit shut off the power supply when power up because it detected some abnormal/defect. I waited a few minutes, let it self reset then try to re power up....

Dead corsair VS450 with blown TNY chip (cwt)
                by zunasthegreat
I have this Corsair VS450 PSU which lies dead and has an exploded TNY chip. Upon removing primary side parts like mosfets, the bulk cap and the bridge rectifier I've found that the primary cap is also a goner. (Photos)
The mosfets and the diode are fine and survived the collapse it seems. The TNY chip is shattered and from the online review/sources it was probably a TNY176~177....
