well rifa was taken over by Kemet - so any rifa branded stuff is old.

that said, it looks like they are still making some like that!

So avoid these like the plague too?

I would imagine people would be gunshy using these by now due to their bad history, yet that link I have at Digikey, that should be New-new stock and is commanding a huge price premium too... $4 for a 0.1uF 660V X2 is a little pricey! Tell me about cheaping out but I'm buying the 50 cent potted Panasonics.

        Re: "Unapproved" input filtering

looking at the kemet site, the X2 rated stuff is boxed and potted from the bottom.

the clear stuff may just be non-critical use now.

So, replacing a RIFA with a RIFA = critical or non-critical?

Took a sampling of a few X2's that I need to get for my scopes:

Which should I get, is cheaper really better?

well kemet do 2, one is the same price as the panasonic.
it looks like the premium price is because it's paper and not plastic-film.
i dont know why? - fuck it - get the plastic film from kemet or pana.

Yeah, that's why I don't get it... how could an inferior product command a higher price?

                Any ideas about Wurth?

I just found two RIFA Y-caps in my junk box (I think... PME 271 Y, 4700pF) ... I should be very afraid... and they belong in the round file...

pre-explosion Y RIFAs for your daily frightfest:
