hello guys im kinda new to this forum and i have a dead hp n5210 that wont power up. i have a good battery also fully charged ive also check the power connector and it to is good. what happends with this laptop is when i go to power it up i only get a 1 sec flash from leds the hdd and fan never run. i have also done a diodie ck and the plug and found 0.152 at the plug which i beleive to be shorted or close to being shorted. ive also taken readings at several capacitors that seem to be ok. now ive been in electronics for awhile and i was wondering is there anything i can do at the componet level to repair this board. i dont wanna deal with hp because of there bad sevice and warranty. it seems that ive had nothing but trouble with this lappy. i would like to know if anyone here has done a repair like this and what would it take to fix. thanx guys

Re: hp pavilion N5210 dead
Hmm - I had no problem understanding most of the OP's posting.
Sanity checks:
1) Check that the voltage(s) from the AC adapter are in spec.
2) Remove all PCMCIA cards, and all memory DIMMs except one.
3) Remove the HDD and all optical drives.
4) Try to power up the notebook.
5) If it succeeds in booting, progressively re-install the removed items one at a time
and repeat step 4).
