Need help with deciding on the PSU choice

Has been checking out this forum for a while and finally got a question to ask,

I have to replace a PSU for my computer (original ACBel PSU) 65W) Now the replacement is Enertronix 65W. Is there any cons going with Enertronix? I read they had some issues in 2009 with the PSU overheating. Am I safe with Enertronix or should I push for Acbel or maybe some other brand like Delta?
    Any input it greatly appreciated.

What type of power supply is it (form factor; i.e. ATX, SFX, TFX, ITX, etc.)? I would imagine at 65w it would be a mini-ITX or something like that. Between the 3 brands you mentioned Delta would be the best and ACBel is generally ok, I'm not too familiar with Enertronix, from what I read online they are owned by ASUS and since ASUS doesn't make any PSUs of their own they are likely sourced from the lowest-bidder and should probably be avoided.

A random guess would be that they overheat from insufficient chassis cooling in the equipment they're placed in, not always but this seems typical of small form factor systems using 65W PSU. Sometimes adding a chassis fan makes things even worse because it's an exhaust that decreases the already anemic PSU airflow.

What part failed on the ACBel? That's what I'd look at, if it was the caps then you may be as well off soldering in some high quality replacements that are more heat tolerant.

        The PSU is melted =D

It is external power supply. Unrecoverable.

External? Well then what's the details on the voltages? If it's just a DC barrel jack connector, take your pick of PSU at or above 65W rating and put the needed mating plug on it.

Better question is what is the cost since there may be an ideal PSU that lasts 200% as long but if it costs 300% as much... Seems like a failure mode analysis is still a useful thing, it could have been a power surge or bad caps or insufficient design or ...

Maybe more details about computer model, PSU model, etc would help... with links helping even more.
