    DPS-200PB-138C - damaged solder pad

    Hi all,

    I have a Delta DPS-200PB-138C.
Decided to give it a re-cap.

I've lost a solder pad, I need to know where I connect a capacitor to.
The capacitor in question is a 47uf 50v (Panasonic FC), with a 100uf 25v (Panasonic FM) capacitor to its right and a 1uf 50V (Nichion) behind it.

Pictures of the top, bottom, layout of capacitors and damage are attached.

If someone can give me a hand, it's appreciated. I've not learned how to trace circuits yet. It looks like I could connect it to the leg which is above, to the left - C16 on the top side.

    Hi,

I'm having a hard time determining exactly where the traces are going. You have good pictures. If you could zoom in a little more, it would be a lot more helpful. If not, you'll just have to tell us.

To help, I put in some reference colors on your picture (located in the attachments)
Look at the exposed beige colored board that was left when you lifted the solder pad...Don't look at my picture to actually determine it. Use the actual board for that.

Does the beige make contact with the red or blue solder joint. You can probably tell that the solder pad is surrounded by green soldermask. However, by looking at your picture, it seems that the exposed board makes contact with the red solder joint, and possibly the blue solder joint.

If the beige/tan touches either one of those solder joints, then effectively, the Panasonic FC capacitor is also connected to that solder joint. If that is the case, then you can simply solder the leg of the Panasonic FC to the other solder joint, and you have effectively fixed it.

This is pretty hard to explain...actually. But the fix itself is very easy. Don't panic. I've done this with a crappy amplifier board, where I pulled 10+ pads and fixed them with no problems...until I had a grounding problem and screwed something over... Tell me if you have questions. I'll try to reword if need be.

It looks to me like it does make contact with the red joint, the blue one is very close too.
I had it joined to the blue joint but wasn't sure so I un-did it, took pictures and came here to ask for help

I'll try and take another picture zoomed in tomorrow.

It looks like the blue and red joints are both connected to the same copper plane. Measure between the blue and red joints with an ohmmeter. If you get 0 ohms resistance, it doesn't matter which one you solder the leg to.

THis is a solder pad island. Jumper wire goes over to the right.

Check the solder pad that is for jumper wire is ground as this cap that was soldered to the other track on capacitor's negative side.

          Cheers, Wizard

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH - Ideapad 3 well known solder joint issues
              by Nagyesz
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH, which has started exhibiting the well-known issues of the Lenovo IdeaPad 3.

All stress tests run perfectly, and there are no performance issues. However, the solder joints are almost certainly starting to fail. If the top two screws on the back are not screwed in, moving the screen results in a BSOD or, in some cases, a slight artifact and freeze. This is a 2023 notebook..

How can I extend its lifespan? Could reflow help?

It has ryzen 5 5500h, rtx 2050, no soldered ram.

              Example of the artifacts:

Acer Helios 500 (PH517-51) - unexpected reboots when laptop is warm (cold solder joint issue?)
              by Mirenia
              Hi everyone,

got an Acer Helios 500 Laptop (PH517-51) for diagnosing with a strange issue:

The laptop runs for a while (1-2 hours, sometimes less) and then suddenly shuts completely off, like someone pulled the power cord and restarts immediately after on its own.
If this happened once, then the laptop only runs for a few minutes until restart.
This happens regardless while staying in windows or uefi or in a linux environment.

At first I thought of a normal overheating issue, but as I monitored temps with HWInfo64, nothing seems very hot.

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

PANASONIC TX-P42X10Y Plasma TV damaged after a power spike
              by tofik
Hello, I have an PANASONIC TX-P42X10Y Plasma TV, purchased new in 2009.
Unfortunately plasma is not working at all after a power spike. Standby LED is not even working.

I did some quick tests, YSUS + ZSUS MOSFETS and IGBT's are free from shorts, diodes on these modules seems to also be fine, buffer board is free from shorts as well.

Anyway I focused mainly on the PSU, did some voltage tests with the results as below, I attached them on the photo (also please see attached PDF with the SERVICE MANUAL for this model, page number 43).

              I understand...
