Theres the primary for a APE based 850W. One transformer puts out half the 12v and the 5v. The other puts out the other half of the 12v and the 3.3v.

I didn't particularly notice that the pc board was black. Sometimes the camera flash makes things look different than they really are, but in this case, the pc board is black.

The main capacitor looks impressive.....big physical size......680 Mfd at 450 volts. A good bug zapper!

So much packed into a small area, it is hard to tell what all is under all that wire and heatsinks. I am wondering what kind of 5vsb it has, and what the switching transistors are. I see two big transformers.....are both main switching transformers......perhaps running in parallel?

toasty: the UL number is E316120, number at far right is D33A74. Not sure what that number is for.

Might be a ATNG APL. They are very popular and decent performers.

The PSU in my main PC (a Vantec ION2+ 620W) has a black PCB. It looks similar in some ways to this. Maybe it too was made by ATNG?

Sirtec also did the ripper series. ATNG APE series are probably a bit better of a platform than the sirtec units.

    Ahh, some digging...
    http://www.allquests.com/question/40...v-Ratings.html

ATNG is the OEM for the Tuniq Miniplant

    Miniplant MIN-950-BK ~67A

Sirtec is OEM for Tuniq Ensemble series:
    Ensemble ENS-1000W-BK ~75A
    Ensemble ENS-1200W-BK ~90A

Ooooooo, Black PC board. Memories of some Asus mobo's... O.o

What's the "E" code under the UL marking. Looks like E316120 ...? Which returns no hits in the UL Online Cert Directory.

    started a topic 1000 whats!

    1000 whats!

Just got my first 1000 watter.....well, actually only 950 watts, but close enough. It is a Tunia model PSU-MIN950-BK. I have no idea who the OEM is, but it sure is pretty!

It supposedly has a problem, but I was able to power it up, and rail voltages were all within spec. Having never had anything this monsterous, I doubt my puny amount of load will tell me much. Even in a real working computer, I don't think I have anything that a 250 watter wouldn't power. So it leaves me with lots of whats! What in the world am I going to do with it, and how will I be able to test it.

    So here are some pictures.
