This board also appeared in a Gigabyte G7 GD I recently fixed so the service manual was immensely helpful. The power brick is rated at 11.8 amps and the main power pin of the DC Jack had burnt a hole in the board. It required quite a bit of grinding out the layers as this was shorted to the ground plane. I coated the exposed layers with conformal coating and filled the hole with epoxy. I replaced the DC jack but I looped a piece of copper wire from some 20 amp mains power flex and ran it directly to EML1/EML2 input resistors. Also had to run a wire underneath as well but this was only for filtering caps.

I don't really think this connector and board design is up to the job for nearly 12 amps. Here is the link for the connector:
