I have same issue on Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-75NB
Motherboard GH51M LA-K862P REV 1A

MB was shorted, so I changed 2 shorted mosfet (PQB11 and PQZ1).
Now power button work (turn on and turn off), lights up, keyboard lights, fun spinning normal with 1.40 Ah absorption and every voltages are good on every coils.
No display, no caps lock (when i press caps lock it not change, seems blocked).
Obviously I cleared and reseated memory RAM stick and tried on external monitor by HDMI.
I flashed three BIOS downloaded from this site but without success, maybe these files are not good for my MB model, so I attached my BIOS file and this is serial number: NHQB2ET00A1100CBC43400

Hi hoaca388 and thanks for files!
First I flashed BIOS with TL866A, as this minipro not detect XMC chip model so I selected W25Q128FV chip model disabling Check ID but same issue.
Then I flashed EC, when MB start keyboard light colour has changed, now is white, before flashing EC was red and absorption increased up to 1.56 Ah, when close display absorption decrease to 1.25 Ah but same issue, no video
Maybe TL866A is not good?
Or something is wrong on MB?

Hi Guys.
Need help please.

History:
Laptop had shorted dual mosfet on vcc core.
After removal of mosfet i got fan spin, power cycle, kb light, no display.
With new mosfet in place -> no change.

Today my t48 arrived and i was able for the first time to read a bios chip without desoldering (i used clip).
I may have damaged the bios chip (???) because after reading verifying and saving the dump laptop only gives me 5 sek blue power led.
No fan spin, no kb light no power cycle no display.
All voltages (19, 5, 3,3, 1,8) present.

Sidenote:
My bios chip only gets vcc voltage after pressing power button. Is this normal ?

Need advice please.

Long story short: I tried to install the BIOS Update 2.08 on my Laptop which had version 2.01 on it beforehand. Did not make a backup. The Update failed, it froze in place and stayed that way for around 2 1/2 hours, after which I powered it down, I basically accepted my fate at that point.

Current situation: laptop powers on, keyboard flashes, fans spin up, screen stays entirely black. BIOS Flashing doesn't work in my tries.

I've had a history of it behaving weird. Around 9 months ago it would freeze randomly after transporting it in a backpack for 2 hours on public transport and was basically unusable. Wasn't sure what it was, so I just left it since I did not have much time to use it anyway. Installed Linux Mint on it a month ago and it ran fine - except Fan speed control was impossible using Linux, so it cooked itself on any game it ran, normal use was fine. Switched back to Windows 10 and downloaded NitroSense again, after that, everything ran fine. Heard of ending support for Win10, so I downloaded the BIOS v2.08 from Acers Website to add Win11 Support. You know the rest.

What I've tried:

• Removing battery, CMOS battery and all storage and ram and slowly adding them back one by one during each boot.
• Flashing various BIOS I found on the ACER Website and online forums. Laptop spins fans at full power for a bit, but after no more than 10 seconds, it shuts off and behaves like in [Current Situation]

I have read through some of the other pinned Posts on the forum here, but I am not sure where to go next. I have seen others with a Nitro 5 get good assitance on this site, so I am asking here. I am willing to learn how to measure voltages and solder if needed, since I have some of the required materials at work and at home already.
