from HP site i can only find main bios 16mb, i'm not sure 1 mb bios need to flash too. I think your 1 mb is gpu bios

The kbc socket on this device is 40 pin. Is the ene kb9042 programmable? Or is it pulling from the main bios?

Copy the DMI (serial,feature Byte,win key) from your backup to the virgin bios using a hex editor.Select the same offsets (select block in HxD) in both bios,copy from the old,paste to the new.
