Dell Vostro 5515 Bios admin password

Hi all,

I've bought a dell vostro 5515, but the seller does not have the bios password - they have receipt, laptop registered on their company name etc etc and they have correctly done the dell transfer of ownership to me, however it will take 10 working days!


I'm trying to use the laptop before that time. I have bought a dell bios password from ebay - and it works and I'm able to change the bios settings but then when I go to remove the admin password it says incorrect password!

Once I restart and type the wrong code password again I get another 16 character code.

I've tried ctrl+enter and it doesn't seem to work! Can anyone help me?

i can generate the code myself now I just needed to suffix the 16 char code with the service tag.

however the problem is the admin password is still set and I am unable to remove it!

Doesn't matter if I press ctrl + enter or not the admin password still stays set! And then on the next reboot same problem - it simply won't accept the code as the previous password

you need lock also system password means both lock admin or system field after save setting and restart send me photo lock i will provide code

Sorry bro, I can't understand what you are saying. The system password is NOT set - I can set it if I want and I have set it to 123456 and then removed it no problem.

Set system password first after will accept code then both field unlocked

I have been trying codes from this website all day - I can unlock the bios to change settings - but CANNOT remove the password, it still says 'SET'

I've little one put admin password on Dell Vostro 5515, and typically forgot it. Now every time I am trying to start, it gives me a blue window on a black screen asking for the current password.

Tried to speak to Dell support, apparently, it would take 7 working days to remove it, after I paid for it.


I have to use the laptop before that time.

After I put the password 3 times I see the following message
