remove the bios chip from the motherboard, measure the legs if they are not short and if they are not, put it correctly and try again, maybe you are lucky ... if you don't buy another one ..

try this one .

Hi I re-programmed a chip now after a couple of boots it displayed an error- 0183: bad crc of security settings in efi variable.
press f1 to enter setup.

once pressed f1
it prompts for password still.

It could be stored in the EC. There`s a seperate chip i think. Have a look around the board. Did you set bios defaults ? ,i there a setting under secrity for security chip ? ,try turning it on/off and bios defaults again.

I couldn't even get as far as bios it asked for the password to get in to it �� not sure what the EC would be like , is there any way to reset the password exceeded error now in the bios thanks , or anyway to read the password from the dump, thanks

Look for a chip with ITE on it, the EC bios will be near it,it could be a winbond chip.

sorry but its the USB-C firmware for the tps65988 chip next to it. Maybe there`s another chip somewhere ,and if there isn`t it could be stored on the EC itelf

Ah is it... Oh no I can't see any other chips, on the bios dump here the one that's been cleaned is there away you can reset the password word re-try limit ? So it will boot windows? It now says reached I read on another forum this can be set to unlimited trys , this was also on a Lenovo ?
