Im still having this same problem, is there anyone that could help? i was hoping if i was patient there maybe more developments in this work that could help me ?

Ah is it... Oh no I can't see any other chips, on the bios dump here the one that's been cleaned is there away you can reset the password word re-try limit ? So it will boot windows? It now says reached I read on another forum this can be set to unlimited trys , this was also on a Lenovo ?

I couldn't even get as far as bios it asked for the password to get in to it �� not sure what the EC would be like , is there any way to reset the password exceeded error now in the bios thanks , or anyway to read the password from the dump, thanksLeave a comment:

Hi I re-programmed a chip now after a couple of boots it displayed an error- 0183: bad crc of security settings in efi variable.
press f1 to enter setup.
once pressed f1
it prompts for password still.

So silly mistake, kids bickering and I thought I'd checked but put the chip back on the wrong way round ! I know stupid mistake not normally I do, but can't turn back time , just need to try a buy a replacement chip, looking seems hard in the UK ?...Leave a comment:
