Re: MacBook Air 2017 A1466 EMC 3178 820-00165-A No power
Can you tell me if this EFI is specific to the 2017 EMC 3178 or is this for any 820-00165 board? I have an EFI ROM file from a 2015 board and it doesn't start up on my 2017 board. I have heard that the EFI for this model is specific to the 2017. Can someone confirm this either way?Leave a comment:

What was pulsing on / off?
Please post more details.
Very possible that you have a defective battery.
Restore your bios and post your voltage rail that is pulsing.Leave a comment:

Did you make a bios backup before you started ? .MEInject isn`t recommended for anything over ME 6 in my opinion, and certainly shouldn`t be used with apple ME fw . Post the original bios backupLeave a comment:

When Macbook is ON and I press ON/OFF key the macbook go off without problem
I tryed to clean me region using FIT but I can't find efi payload for this model MBA7,2.

Hi everyone.
Macbook Air A1466 EMC 3178 (board 820-00165 A) not turning on and no charging light. Completely dead. With no battery connected it would power up and I could hear the chime, but nothing on the screen and then a sudden turn off. Sometimes during the chime. Opened it up and found some liquid damage. The flat that connects both boards has damage in one side (with a missing pin already). The connectors on the boards are fine, though.
Also, there was liquid damage on the included picture area, which are R8111 and C8111. A quick and soft brush on it made the resistor be gone....04-15-2024, 01:24 PM -

by ACS-RepairI'm hoping someone can help me with a 2017 MacBook Air A1466 820-00165 that is running very slow. This is a board that I picked up on ebay recently.
This is not being caused by a sensor issue. All sensors report normal operation and the fans run at normal speed. Geekbench gives me a single core CPU value of 124, when it should be closer to 400. I was unable to complete an install on the SSD without putting it into a different computer first.
The board appears clean with no sign of liquid damage. I have done a PRAM and SMC reset, and I have done a reflow of the SMC. I have inspected... - Loading...
