you only need to remove the contents from the bios chip, it is good to remove the chip from the motherboard, and solder it on the programmer if you have ch341A,
and you do not have an adapter for bios chips ..
you can soder wires between the programmer and the chip bios on the motherboard,
if you can't remove it..do not use the clip because you will have errors..
don't forget to make a bios copy before writing the bios chip..if you have CH341A use one of these two programs ..

I have to unlock a HP 820 G1 (bios locked). It would seem, to make a correct bios dump, that it is necessary, on this model, either desolder the eeprom, or solder wires to it (and dump for only the eeprom, not eeprom + EC). Am I right ? I do not know these technics: would you have a solution that would only require a simple clip? Do you need to use any particular software and, if so, which one ?
Thanks for rour reply and best regards.
you will need an SPI programmer.

Maybe you destroy a small cap/resistor near bios pads , try to verify at another motherboard or search HD picture to confirm.

remove the bios chip before reading from the motherboard and solder on the programmer if you do not have an adapter ..maybe the bios chip is defective ..

    Hp 820 g1

    Hi all,

I'm trying to recover my bios file with CH341A and Asprogrammer 1.4.1 on a 820 g1.
I connect the clip, i push "Read Id with ?" chip is detected i do it again chip also detected and direct after the yellow orange led lights up and the bios is no longer detected.

All battery are disconnected and it doesn't matter if I connect the charger or not it's the same thing.

Any help or idea on this ?

yes, i tried more RAM. I did all the tests, voltage is fine everywhere. I'm out of my mind. Processor BGA error? With a microscope motherboard I looked carefully, everything was fine. 2 RAM slots are also good. But it's not working

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
    by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

    HP Omen 15-dh0052nf power-on & bios password
    by Nopslide
Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....

HP Elitebook 820 G4 BIOS repair assistance required
    by Wutru
    Hi guys,

If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.

    BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....
