by stormy1777Friends,
It appears I've accidentally applied 19VDC to a PCB that should only run 12VDC.
The board now does not power on, even with 12VDC..
Using a thermal camera shows entire board remains COLD except one component (near power plug) that heats to 120C and higher!!
Suspected component is marked with "T" (slanted) and "BE", think/hope it is some kind of fuse, in photo just ABOVE the green power terminals and LEFT of the 16V capacitor (on right of photo)
Interesting part is measuring continuity across that component shows 0-reistance... -

by DanghaibangHello everyone,
About a year ago, I accidentally erased the firmware on the SPI ROM of a Thunderbolt retimer in my computer, mistaking it for the main BIOS chip. Since then, the Thunderbolt controller no longer appears in Device Manager, and I'm unable to use Thunderbolt functionality.
For context, my system has two retimers: UT5 and UT3. The one I erased is the UT3, which uses a W25Q80DVSSIG chip. In an attempt to fix this, I used a CH341A programmer to copy the ROM data from the UT5 retimer to the UT3, hoping it would restore functionality. Unfortunately, this didn't... -
by chunter2I've got an HP ENVY 15 Model 15-j030eb that I had originally flashed with the wrong BIOS. I was able to get a CH341a and flash it back but in the process accidentally erased the wrong chip. So, I'm looking for the firmware/BIOS for the Pm25LD512 chip which I think relates to the power management since it's right beside an IT8527E chip.
Thanks-
