Re: Probook 470G3-Your system is not fully configured - contact your hp customer supp
Its the same. Can you try this to backup your bios .
Download the file in the attatchment and save it.Extract the folder and save the FPT64 folder to your C drive
C:\FPT64
Shut down the laptop.Hold down the WIN + LEFT ARROW + RIGHT ARROW keys ,start the laptop keep holding the keys for a few seconds. You should see a message at the top left saying flash descriptor unlocked (if you don`t see that message try again holding WIN + UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW), let go of the keys and let windows boot up.Open a command prompt as admin (on win 10 type cmd into the search bar, right click on cmd,run as admin) ,type each command,or copy and paste, and press enter after each line.
cd C:\FPT64
fptw64 -D backup.rom
exit
Shut down the laptop, take the charger and battery out, press the power button for 20 seconds.Put the battery back in,plug charger in and start laptop.(it will re-lock the flash descriptor)
You should have a bios backup now in the C:\FPT64 folder called backup.rom .Zip that file up and upload it.Attached FilesComment

I repeat, I can not unlock the flash descriptor with any combination of buttons. How can I otherwise do bios backup?
Please read page 43 and 45 from this attach. What do you think? I only have NbDmiFit-2.13, I do not have the rest of the utilities (see attach 2.png) !!Last edited by oliviu50; 07-03-2018, 05:03 AM.Comment

"Unzipping is done in the FPTW64 folder, not FPT64. In drive C, add the FPTW64 folder (C: \ FPTW64). Correct?"
Yes thats right, slight error there. So from the command line
cd C:\FPTW64
fptw64 -D backup.rom
exitComment

Found this post on elvikom about set surestart mode
https://www.elvikom.pl/hp-470-g3-bra...wa-t53076.html
In HP laptops manufactured since 2015, it is necessary to enter the Feature Byte and Build ID numbers.
These series are stored in the original BIOS (sometimes you can find these numbers on the sticker on the bottom casing).
You have to edit the batch using the HxD program and find the string (Hex values):
46 00 65 00 61 00 74 00 75 00 72 00 65 00 42 00 79 00 74 00 65,
next to it should be Build ID (Hex Values):
42 00 55 00 49 00 4C 00 44 00 49 00 44.
If MPM (Manufacturing Programming Mode) is blocked, it's best to re-load the BIOS,
use "wndmifit.exe" to enter numbers,
after the 10th startup of the MPM laptop will lock itself.Comment

This is very complicated for me! I am not a specialist and I do not have the necessary knowledge to reprogram the BIOS. If you want to help me, step by step, explain the steps to follow. Thank you!

Re: Probook 470G3-Your system is not fully configured - contact your hp customer supp
@imranromi asked if you have a bios programmer . With a hardware bios programmer the whole bios is copied ,it can be edited and reflashed. So far we have been trying to unlock the flash descriptor part of the bios with software.Without unlocking the flash descriptor we can`t get a full copy of the bios. On earlier ProBooks its possible to unlock the flash descriptor by using the key combination you tried (win+L & R arrow keys). Your only option if you don`t have a hardware bios programmer is , leave it as it is,buy a programmer,or keep trying the software solution WNDMIFIT . The HP pdf you posted is for a tool thats not available to the public,or leaked onto the internet ...yet.Last edited by SMDFlea; 07-03-2018, 10:33 AM.Comment

To unlock the MPM, copy the FSMC.bin file from the WNDMIFIT folder to a Fat32-formatted USB drive. Rename the file to SMC.bin. Plug the USB drive into the laptop with the power off. Hold Windows Key + Arrow UP Key + Arrow Down Key at the same time and power the system on. Release all keys when you see the blue HP logo. You should see a brief message on a white screen saying that the SMC command was handled successfully. This means that the MPM is unlocked, and will remain so for the next 10 power-cycles.
Now you need to reset the missing information in the BIOS. To do this, boot back into Windows and run Wndmifit64.exe which is located in the WNDMIFIT folder. You should see the Notebook DMI Firmware Interface Tool appear on the screen.Fill everything in (take pictures of all the labels,in the battery compartment on the base, and under the base cover,Your error message is due to the feature byte not being set.Find that number)
The last step is to lock the MPM back up. If you reboot now, you will lose everything that you accomplished.Run lockmpm.bat, which is also located in the WNDMIFIT folder.
These instructions with a few slight edits (it save me typing it all) are taken from post #6 at https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/h...art-up.129803/Comment

Will the already entered series be lost when resetting? When I run Wndmifit64.exe, will I lose the series of components already entered? (Serial number, part number, UUID etc) ??Comment

Fill everything in if its not already there in the boxes, then run lockmpm.batComment

I was referring to the fact that the bios already contain the series on all the components. Will these be deleted when the utility is running? Do I have to reintroduce these series again?Comment
