Thanks, this worked for me. It was correct size and the before bricked laptop works again.

The file 68ICE.BIN from HP's website is only 5242880 bytes and the chip is 16 megabytes so flashrom didn't write it. Maybe there are instructions how to modify it but I could not find them yet. I only tried the "truncate -s 16M" command which didn't work.

on the website for this laptop model is only the update... to have a bios of the correct length, you must cut from the original bios what is missing and add over the update, of course the update must be cut, after which you clean the me region...

Thanks for the clarification, it makes sense now. Fortunately the whole bios was shared here so I don't have to cut and paste

Hello everyone i have hp proobook 6470b with locked bios i read out with programmer the bios save old to usbhdd and put new bios from hp original page. and my laptop show errors with mac adress and serials missing. how use this things from old bios.bin file and put to new bios.bin. I do same then i flash asus dekstop pc they have the program called FD44Editor from old bin take mac and serials and put to new bios file. but hp computers i cant find some simmilar program. password remowers not working for my bios i tryit.
