Read post #23 ,there is a tool to remove your password. You must remove the password from your own bios, don`t use any other.

Re: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 14282 Bios

The image attached worked for me after a failed BIOS update. I made the image from the one in post 20 using the instructions from here to "clean" the ME region.

I had previously tried an image from peste here, which mostly worked, except the laptop wouldn't recognize an M.2 NVMe SSD anymore (an old M.2 SATA SSD I had lying around was still recognized somehow).

                        Hi

I have a ThinkPad motherboard (14282 -2m LRV1 448.04P15.002M) which doesn't want to boot. Power light and fan does spin for several time then nothing. There is a bit of activity in the CPU cause is getting warm.
I assumed bios was corrupt and tried the bios images from here but none of them seems to work. Now power light 3 times and no fan of keyboard activity as previously.
Is there any other solution for this?

                        Thanks

                            hi Peste,

I dont have those information. Original bios content was overridden.
Tested several bin files from here and managed to see the logo screen eventually, then the following errors: The LAN adapter NVM configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized then, in the next screen : "0183 Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable"; and "2100 Detection error on Storage Device M2"
Then screen is stuck when I press F1 to get into Settings, where fan is spinning fast because CPU is hot, power light on

here is the bin that worked kind off

The information is on the label on the case.

motherboard came as part of incomplete laptop parts, so not sure serial number I have on one of the bottom case belong to this.

                                TYPE 20FR-S1VROK
                                S/N R9-0LBJ8V
                                X1 Yoga 1st Generation

tried other bin fie and the "2100 Detection error on Storage Device M2" is not there
attached below, but still, nothing is happening after F1 (bios setup)

with another bin file (uploaded below), managed to get into Setup for few seconds and I can confirm

                                  TYPE 20FR-S1VROK
                                  S/N R9-0LBJ8V

Unfortunately, getting into Setting is random or close to impossible.

following errors appear: "0183 Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable"; and "2100 Detection error on Storage Device M2"
