I have a password locked 8570w, and want to flash it with this dump via
CH341A programmer. Does flashing this BIOS cause problems with intel management engine? People who tried this should know.Comment

Hi, I just tried both the .bin files and both give SMC failure, via the usb method as prescribed in hp forum. Anyone been successful with that method using the files available in this post? Seems to be quite fickle and maybe someone has a pointer??

after reflashing bios, boot with fan running very fast and shutdown with no post at the screen.
tryed reflashing with orig dump file but now no power at all
only show led/white blinking at the power lightComment

i found the problem....for unkown reason the eeprom bios ic is f*** up
I replaced id with another SOP8 (the original is SOP16) and now is working fine

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,... -

I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
