The dump contains the whole flash including the boot loader, NV data, serial numbers etc etc.
The BIOS contains just the boot loader. You need to use HP DMI tools to set the serial number.

the computer power on.so in which case do you use a dump file for a machine and how to you use it?
The "Original BIOS" is provided by the manufacturer, while the "Dumped BIOS" is provided by someone who has read the whole EEPROM by using a special backup application tool or using the programmer.
Hope that helps.

1. Goto http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...t=366393#N6264
2. Go down and download sp28962.exe.
3. Extract the sp28962.exe file and you should have a winflash.exe file.
4. Extract the winflash.exe file and you should have 5 different BIOS files.
5. Only one is compatible with your board which is the one ending with R10. I have figured this out bu doing some research on the internet.
Hope this helps

Re: HP PAVILLION zd 7000
The WINPHLASHF34.exe file contains a file called OEMFLASH.INI. The contents are as below:
w[BIOS]
[NT1 ]
018610DE=RYAN1F34.R10
031A10DE=RYAN1F34.R10
[NT1P]
031A10DE=RYAN1F34.P31
032410DE=RYAN1F34.P34
[NT1Q]
032410DE=RYAN1F34.Q34
034710DE=RYAN1F34.Q36
Since your mother board is DAONT1MB6GO then you need to look at "NT1" and since both variants under that section calls RYAN1F34.R10 as below, then it's obvious.
018610DE=RYAN1F34.R10
031A10DE=RYAN1F34.R10

Re: HP PAVILLION zd 7000
Hi, There are two ways of doing this.
1. By using the Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0 from Windows. Always make sure there is no BIOS/SLIC emulation like Windows Loader for example before doing that.
or
2. By removing the chip and read the it using an EEPROM/FLASH programmer.
Hope that helps
