The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

Warning: With the CH341A programmer you also need 1.8V adapter, like the one attached, the BIOS chip on AMD laptops is 1.8V, otherwise you risk frying the BIOS chip or the motherboard/CPU by supplying 3.3V to the 1.8v rail
If you're not confortable with soldering, electronics, or opening the laptop, it's best to bring the laptop to a repair shop, try to find a shop with good reputation, as you'll need the tools and skills to do it properly
If you want to learn, it's best to practice on broken electronics, otherwise you risk damaging a working laptop
Otherwise, since the laptop is still working, best to leave it as is

I have this Legion Slim 5 16APH8 which boots to Lenovo logo and I can also hit F2 and it will take me to system BIOS menu. However, after a few seconds I lose keyboard, external keyboard no longer works either and only mouse works for a while. Then, it also gets disabled.

                        I suspect corrupted BIOS chip.

                        Model: Legion Slim 5 16APH8

                        Motherboard#: LA-M811P

Original BIOS file is attached. Could someone, please fix the BIOS file for me? Thanks

I applied updated BIOS file. Unfortunately, no changes. Computer boots briefly and can stay in BIOS menu screen. I almost immediately lose the keyboard and eventually the mouse also hangs as well.

Perhaps, it is a CPU issue? I wonder if reflowing the CPU will yield success.

I think I understand why the computer is freezing on start. When the cpu is warm, on reboot the computer immediately freezes. If I let it cool off for a minute, on start I gain back the keyboard and the mouse for a little while. Both fans appear to be working. Is it possible, the heatsink is not making good contact with the cpu/gpu and this makes the computer to freeze?

Any pointers from the group would be appreciated.
