    HP ENVY X360 13-AY Ryzen7 5800U board LA-J482P M76378-601/ M76376-601 BIOS

    Hi all,

    I have a HP ENVY X360 13-AY Ryzen7 5800U computer here
    • shows 5 long, 3 short capslock flashes when the WIN+B is pressed
    • turns itsef off after 2-3 secs otherwise
based on the 5+3 flash code, I believe it's a BIOS issue
so I wonder if some of you guys have the LA-J482P BIOS on hand

    thanks,
    -jp

      Thanks SMDFlea,

here are details I was able to find
      • HP ENVY x360 Convertible
      • Model 13-ay1003nc
      • ProdID 58W53EA#BCM
      • SN# CND1442RZ4
I am having difficulties reading the BIOS chip GD25LB128DSIG, my EZP2010 reader can't detect nor read it when manually configured as GD25Q128.
It's 1.8V chip, I am using the low voltage adapter.
The laptop can't read the chip as well IMHO, so it might be dead or unreadable.

So I wonder if there is a chance to get a binary and flash it into a new chip.

      Regards,
      -jp

Change the programmer speed to 6MHz and try again. If that doesn`t work buy a CH341A and try it with that.

              Hi guys,

I do have the same board in a Hp Envy 13-ay1013na, Ryzen 7 5800u
I only get the laptop to power for about 3-4 seconds with no caps code flashing, no fan spinning it just goes off.
My first guess was that is a bios related problem, as the laptop gets power, it does charge the battery.
              Motherboard : la-j482p rev.1 SPS M76379-601.
I did try to flash the dump attached previously with no success and it dues the same thing.
Could someone check my bios or have a fresh one? thanks

Maybe the laptop has another problem.

                      thanks LBTT1121 ,

I managed to wrte the bios data, unfortunately it did not help
I'll try to flash the version I extracted from the sp155608.exe (downloaded from https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers...-pc/2100744992)
the exact product code is 13-ay1003nc, the 13-ay1000 is the closest version I have
compared to both my old and your version, this is different

                      will keep you posted
                      thank you for the help,

Post 8 is the right bios BID08929. If that one doesn`t work look for a hardware problem. The 5:3 error is sometimes loose ram slot pins, cracked solder balls under the SOC.
