Hello, I have this Latitude 5440 that is not starting. When power button is pushed, the keyboard lights up and the fan begins to spin. The amps go up to about 0.7A. Computer is not charging. This pattern repeats and the computer is not posting.
I applied the patch from post 7 and now computer is charging but still not posting. The keyboard lights up and the fan begins to spin, this time only 2 times. Then, nothing.

I suspect the bios in this computer is corrupted. Could someone, please take a look at the bin files and clean them up?

Hello try this two new files .....

I reflashed both chips. Computer is behaving the same way as originally. It continuously tries to boot but no post. The CPU gets pretty warm, the fan spins. Computer also responds to "D" key test by flashing different colors of rainbow.

No post, unfortunately.

Check in your BIOS to see if the "Enable External USB Ports" option is enabled under USB/Thunderbird Configuration.
I had the exact same problem with a Dell 5520 notebook; it wasn't enabled.
At first, I thought the two USB ports were defective. That wasn't the case.
