Hello guys. I have got one of these netbooks that seems to have the symptoms of a corrupted bios. These are well known for this. Turns on but nothing but a black screen shows up. If you come back to it maybe a day or two later it might access the bios and then it might not. It will never boot to any device once you set it in the bios and save the configuration,it totally blacks out. I have noticed one strange thing about it. Physical memory in the bios goes from 1024 to 0 and video memory is only 8 mb. This unit will not take a flash from crisis disk whether floppy or usb stick. Your input is greatly appreciated.

From what you told us, it seems u need to reflow northbridge. Memory are connected to nb. Memory can give you no display fault. Just give it a try, just a mild reflow and see what happen. Dont forget to flux.Comment

I appreciate all the responses given in a timely manner. A reflow probably would cure the problem but the customer is not going to compensate me for this much time and effort. Some customers are like that. It is probably better to return this netbook to the customer.Comment

Hello everyone,
I need help with my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. Its original GeForce 8600M GT graphics card failed, so I replaced it with an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT MXM card.
**Problem:** The laptop powers on, but there is no display (black screen) on either the internal LCD or external monitor. This indicates a BIOS compatibility issue with the new graphics card.
**What I have tried so far:**
