    Dell Latitude e5580 LA-E091P Rev: 2.0 (A01)

    • Dell Latitude e5580
    • SN: D01JGH2
    • MB: CDM80 LA-E091P Rev: 2.0 (A01)
    • SPI: 25B128CSIG

I had problem with this laptop that in post it was giving TPM is missing warning. There was no TPM option in BIOS, I`ve tried all Windows/BIOS methods with no luck. I tried to downgrade BIOS thru Windows but Dell have disabled this option so I came up with the idea changing SPI firmware by programmer.

I`m using CH341 one, I`v started with the software that was provided with the programmer. It was reading my chip as:
    • 25/26 SPI Flash
    • Gigadevice
    • GD25Q128

I`ve made a backup (file attached as 1.bin) but it was giving error:

chip main memory with the contect are in disagreement

Then I`ve found badcaps thread saying about need to mod my CH341 to have 3.3 line on 28th pin so I`ve done that. Now my software doesn`t detect IC anymore (when clicking detect it gaves error: accress violation at ….).

Using Neoprogrammer it is finding my IC as GIGADEVICE SPI 25XX Flash, i can choose between GD25Q127C/GD25Q128B/GD25Q128C. It is reading my IC but shows only few first lines with some data and the rest is FF. I cant erase or programm IC, it is starting but never ending (hang?).

My concern is neoprogrammer shows on the picture bit different IC legs pinout than it appears on my programmer ( see pictuire 2, 3 and 4).

    Any help apprectiated.

Hello, first of all, undo the modification to your CH341A and watch this video.

Why should the manufacturer deliver this CH341A like this only to have it modified.

If you watch the video you will understand why modification is unnecessary.

They tested it that way too.

The second, your original BIOS file, is damaged and cannot work, more on that later.

So now for the second part, your BIOS on the left and a BIOS on the right that is intact.

        Picture 01.jpg

You see all the messages in yours that shouldn't be like that.

        Good luck ...

OK, I`ve tried the second file and laptop is working again. GREAT! But I still have post allert saying `tpm device is not detected`.I`vee read that downgrading of bios might help with that. Any experience with that matter?

I`ve found several threads on badcaps saying that it can be fixed by downgrading older version of bios. Does anyone have one?

I can confirm - with that one `TPM is missing` warning is gone, I even updated BIOS to newest one and still no warning. Thank you!
