i noticed there's a lot of unlock request for this model HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 and patch won't work if the bios version is latest. use this bin flash both it won't work if you only flash the main you should flash both.
first boot press f10 apply factory defaults and restart, 2nd boot reset security settings to defaults and exit.
use BCU.

Hello It turned out like this for me. At the first boot, reset to factory settings. In the second case, reset the security settings to factory defaults.

i tried this bios and the suggested procedures but still asking for password when i reset the security settings to factory default.

Hi, could someone help me unlock this file? I tried it myself but when I enter mpm mode it asks me for the password to restore the default security settings

I solved it on my own, it turns out that version u71 01.11.05 or higher retains the password, I have downgraded the version to u71 01.10.00 using an ec, and a clean bios, it works perfectly, you just have to write the dmi information later with some mpm tool.
Here I leave you an ec and a clean bios of that version.

PD. Make sure your actual bios is U71 too

It could not be done since the serial number configuration is missing. Since it is configured with the same one, only the region changes.

Can someone Remove the Bios Password of the HP Elitebook 840 G9 (Intel VPro i5) and the Laptop is also MDM Locked!

Processor: 12th Gen
Serial Number: 5CG33501TQ
SKU Number: 6Z7M1EC#ABA

I have attached both the original and modified bios file, I tried to remove the password but no luck it is still bios locked.


NOTE: I tried modifying the NVRAM region to FF in the EC Chip (Back) too and still no luck!
