This approach is rather more inappropriate.
It's much better to edit the second chip than to put the machine into manufacturing mode and play back and forth with entering serials, SKU, FB and so on.

I find it very easy to work. Just flash the file and restore factory settings, then boot to the OS and open the tool, copy and paste the missing information. It's better than removing the board to read the chip from the other side. You may end up breaking something (keyboard frame for example)
