I would like to make two laptops clones of each other

Hello I am eager to take two laptops with identical specs and modify the internal UUID, serial numbers, MAC address, etc... so that the laptops are clones of one another. I was going to try it with two Lenovo T480 units, but from what I read, it seems if I flash the MEC1653 nvram and use the Lenovo bios management tool to restore the UUID, I am unable to set a user-defined UUID and instead a random one is generated, so it is impossible to create a clone. I read about Asus tools for modifying these variables in these forums, such as Coffee and FD44Editor, but the software also came with warnings to not use the serials, IDs that did not come with the original computer, I do not know why.

So I am at a loss, wondering if anyone else has tried it and if there are any suggestions on the best make/model of computer that I can obtain to make success likely in this goal. Can it be done? What is the best way.

Thanks in advance for any input that you can provide.

Anyone else been having problems with chinese laptops using ESSX8336 / ES8336 audio?
    by NanoTesting
This audio chipset has been a pain to deal with, most of the time its impossible to find drivers for chinese laptops that have no name/brand, or generic rebranded laptops.
Huawei also started to use it BUT they no longer host drivers on their website since they want you to force their PC manager app that often refuses to install after bios flashing and apparently the generic drivers around wont work on some intel systems and others wont work on amd systems, the generic ones have worked only once and i think i have had this problem on 30+ laptops so far in the last year.

Trying To Find UUID In BIOS Dump - HP 14-dq0055dx

This laptop is the same laptop I was working on in this thread and I wasn't sure if I should post a new topic or post in that thread because I already solved the issue that thread was discussing and this is a completely different issue although it is dealing with the same laptop. I decided to make a new thread since it's a new issue, but please move if I made a mistake.

Lenovo laptops unstable with sodimm ram
    by dr.thodt
For the second time this week I received a Lenovo laptop with onboard ram and one sodimm slot. Both laptops run stable from their onboard 4GB RAM, but turn out to be very unstable when there's a sodimm inserted in the slot.
Both times it was a GS44D/GS54D NM-C711 rev 1.0 board.
Both times there were no loose pins on the slot and it did not matter what sodimm I put in. It just artefacts and crashes randomly when there's extra ram.
What I did notice is that almost all coils have very dirty phases one the mosfet side when checked with an oscilloscope. Not something I see very often....

Any 11th gen Intel schematics of modern laptops
    by dsmartbox
    Hello Everyone,

I am looking for schematics of good quality laptops and tablet with 11th gen CPU.

I'm an engineer and I'd like to study them.

    I can find:
    - Macbooks
    - Surface laptops

Does anyone have any schematics of 11th gen Dell XPS laptops, or other good-quality premium laptops and tablets?

    it would be much appreciated!

    Legacy CSM on new laptops?
    by zungu
    Hello,

Since 2020, Intel provides UEFI 3.0 bioses without legacy CSM support. It means that for example, Dell does not provide anymore laptops since the xx80 series with Bioses including full legacy CSM support, but only with UEFI (some still provide legacy for USB only). It's true since 2019/2020 with Dell.
I REALLY want full legacy support CSM (not with limited usb only), so I wonder if new dell bioses of laptops sold in 2021/2022 can be modded to get full legacy support.
If it's not possible with dell, do you know if there is still a brand providing new laptops...
