When the touchpad is hit on the 3542 lap, the power led light blinks continuously. When you remove the touch pad, you need the lap, it works well. What is this case?

1) is this a Dell? Logic board number? Post full details.
2) what color is the blinking led?
3) is the power adapter a known good adapter? It is the original and recommended unit for this laptop?
4) any liquid damage?
5) does the battery charge ok? Unit can work from battery only?
